WHAT TO EXPECT
What happens
during your visit
Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to gently sweep away the layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, often called peach fuzz, that sits on the surface of your face. It adds about twenty minutes to your treatment and leaves skin noticeably smoother, with makeup that goes on more evenly afterward. It's the perfect add-on for the Glo2Facial, the Firming Peptide Facial, and chemical peels, since clearing the surface first helps everything that follows absorb better. If you're booking one of our custom facials, you don't need to add it on. Dermaplaning can already be included in those treatments when your skin calls for it.

GOOD TO KNOW
Frequently asked questions
What is dermaplaning?
It's a gentle manual exfoliation using a sterile blade held at a shallow angle. It lifts away dead surface skin along with the fine, soft hair on your face, leaving skin noticeably smoother and brighter right away. Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. That's the most common worry and it's a myth. The fine vellus hair removed during dermaplaning grows back the same texture and color it was before. It may feel slightly different for a few days simply because it's growing in with a blunt tip.Which facials can I add it to?
It can be added to any facial on the menu. It works especially well before a mask or a treatment boost, because with the surface cleared away, everything applied afterward absorbs more evenly. Can I wear makeup afterward?
Yes, and most people find it goes on more smoothly than usual. We recommend giving your skin the rest of the day if you can, but if you have somewhere to be, light makeup is fine. Just be sure to wear SPF.Is dermaplaning right for everyone?
Most skin does well with it, but we'll skip it if you have active breakouts, a sunburn, or irritated skin that day, since the blade shouldn't pass over inflamed areas. Let us know if you're using prescription retinoids so we can plan around them. How often can I add dermaplaning?
Every three to four weeks is ideal. That lines up with your skin's natural turnover cycle and gives the fine hair time to grow back, so it pairs neatly with a monthly facial.
